Monsignor Gus will be remembered for his humility and service. He was a man of great intelligence who was an avid reader and spoke several languages fluently. He loved to celebrate the liturgy and assisted with the daily Masses at the diocesan Pastoral Center when he was able to. He loved people and was open to everyone, always greetings others with his trademark gentle smile.
